The Phillies 2008 World Series win ended a 25-year sports title drought for Philly. Nevertheless, a great win can't hide the city's challenges, which include long commutes, high crime rates and pollution.

The Eagles released running back Brian Westbrook on Tuesday. Westbrook, a versatile veteran, has battled injuries in recent years, including two concussions. An ankle injury sidelined him for eight games last season. Heading into 2009, Westbrook was already showing signs of decline. Given that he’ll be 31 in September, it’s doubtful he’ll be on a roster for Week 1.
